HISTORY OF ALLSTATES RUBBER & TOOL CORP.
Allstates Rubber & Tool Corp. was founded in 1968, by Jack Burke, as a distributor of material handling tools & industrial rubber parts. At it's inception, it was a contracted distributor for, then industrial rubber giant, Atlantic India Rubber. The company remained relatively small until the early 1980's when they expanded space capacity & inventory, looking to aggressively grow the business. In 1981 Mike Burke (current president) started with the company. The company grew from a two man operation into a 3 person office with a fabricating shop in 1985. The fabricating shop does drilling, grinding & lathe cutting work as well as specialty operations on existing product.
Bill Burke (current VP/GM) started with the company in 1991. Allstates passed the 1 million dollar mark in sales in 1995. The company has continued to grow adding employees in both shipping & manufacturing during the 90's. Allstates outgrew 3 different buildings in the decade. In 2000, the company moved to its present Tinley Park, IL address, where they currently lease 5,400 sq. ft. of office & warehouse. Also in 2000, the company topped the 2 million dollar sales mark for the first time.
Currently, Allstates specializes in "off the shelf" and custom run molded & extruded rubber parts. They currently inventory over 2500 different parts and are capable of just-in-time deliveries as well as derivations of that, such as Kan Ban contracts. There are plans for ISO 2000 certification & Bar Coding capabilities to come on line.
